Role Descriptions

1. Marketing
Nature:
  • Promote Malaysia Fest
  • Increase public awareness
  • Provide relevant information about MFest to the general public
Example: Promotions around Sydney both before and on the event day (23 Sep '12)  
2. Stagehands
Nature:
  • Provide assistance at the stage area
  • Assist in supervision and coordination on the use of performance stage and related entertainment equipments
Example: Setting up equipment, equipment transportation  
3. Co-Events Assistant
Nature:
  • Working along-side Co-events Executive in getting restaurants to participate in Mfest
  • Assist stall owners during setup of stalls and provide other assistance throughout the day
Example: Setting up the stall and moving things around  
4. Health Assistant
Nature:
  • Provide basic first aid assistance to anyone in the event when required
  • Provide visitors information or any other assistance related to the festival if required
Requirements: Completion of First Aid basic course needed
Example: Attend to minor cut injuries using supplies in the First Aid Kit  
5. Crowd Control
Nature:
  • Ensure crowd do not disrupt the operation of the festival
  • Ensure an orderly flow of queues at food stalls
  • Prevent trespassers and overcrowding around the VIP area, front and back of stage
  • Provide visitors information or any other assistance regarding MFest as appropriate
Example: Patrol the park, control backstage access, assist with handling of any disruption  
6. Surveyors
Nature:
  • Collect general feedback about MFest
  • Encourage visitors to fill up surveys
  • Provide visitors information or any other assistance regarding MFest as appropriate
Example: Approach strangers and ask them what they think of the event  
7. Public Relations
Nature:
  • Dealing with VIP’s in the VIP tent
  • Has to have good communicative skills to accompany press or any VIP Example : Serve food to the VIP’s, accompany press/media/any VIPs around the event.
 
8. Mascot
Nature:
  • Parade around the park in ‘costume-of-the-day’ to attract more visitors
  • Create lively atmosphere during the event
Example: Pose for photographs with visitors  
9. Information/Raffle Booth
Nature:
  • Provide attendees with relevant information regarding MFest, Malaysia and food stalls
  • Distribute program booklets and sponsor gift bags
  • Assist in selling of raffle tickets or any MFest-related merchandise
  • Provide emergency assistant or any other assistance if required
Example: Answer questions on the location of a particular food stall or particular type of food
